HySky Suite is a self-hosted, TRAI-compliant IPTV and OTT operator platform from Hybrid Networks. Middleware is the control plane of an IPTV service. It manages channels, bouquets, EPG, devices and entitlements, and decides who sees which channel on which device. HySky Middleware is that layer, driving CAS, DRM and delivery beneath it.

Digital Rights Management delivers the decryption key to a player only if the viewer is entitled, on an approved device, in the right region. HySky DRM supports Widevine, ClearKey, FairPlay and PlayReady, with per-subscriber forensic fingerprinting.

A CAS decides, in real time, whether a device is allowed to watch a channel, and records every decision. HySky CAS enforces entitlements at the edge with device locking and hash-chained audit logging.

CAS answers whether a device is allowed to watch (authorization). DRM answers how the decryption key is delivered safely (encryption and keys). Compliant operators use both, working together.

The SMS handles the business side of an operator: subscribers, KYC, plans, bouquets, billing and invoicing. It pushes entitlements to the CAS and is the single source of truth for who is a paying subscriber.

Yes. HySky Suite is built to TEC 57015:2022, TEC 57025:2022 and TRAI Schedule-X, with fingerprinting, three-year logging, geo and device locking, and a one-click auditor pack.

TEC 57015:2022 is the specification for a Conditional Access System. TEC 57025:2022 is the specification for a Subscriber Management System. Indian operators are measured against both.

An empanelled auditor verifies fingerprinting, logging, reconciliation and reporting. HySky generates the full auditor pack, including Schedule-3 reports, reconciliation workbooks, pairing logs and query evidence, in the accepted formats.

Catch-up, start-over, time-shift and video on demand are in development as an add-on module. Every on-demand stream is designed to pass the same DRM, entitlement logging, geo and device checks and audit trail as live TV, and to leave the existing live service untouched. Today an IPTV provider needs either an internet-service authorisation from the Department of Telecommunications or registration as a Multi-System Operator under the Cable Television Networks (Regulation) Act. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting's draft rules of September 2026 propose a simpler declaration for these entities, but they are not final. Confirm the current position with a telecom lawyer before you apply.

Since June 2026 the old ISP category A, B and C licences have been replaced by an Internet Service authorisation under the Telecommunications Act, 2023. A company (not a One Person Company) applies on the DoT authorisation portal, chooses network operator or virtual network operator, and pays an entry fee, an initial guarantee and 8% of adjusted gross revenue. No. Multicast works only inside a single operator's network and reaches set-top boxes on that network. Phones, tablets and smart-TV apps on Wi-Fi or mobile data need unicast streaming such as DASH or HLS with DRM. Most operators therefore run a hybrid: multicast for on-network boxes and unicast for apps.

Yes. We have taken an ISP customer from licence application to a fully built network, including Category A and Category C licences and the complete setup. We support the application, design and build the network, and can add IPTV on top. Licences and authorisations are granted by the Department of Telecommunications, so we cannot guarantee approval.
